Welcome James and Fred!

I’d like to welcome two new bloggers to the TOCWOC team.

Many of you have read Fred Ray’s numerous excellent posts on Civil War sharpshooters on my old American Civil War Gaming & Reading blog. Fred is the author of Shock Troops of the Confederacy: The Sharpshooter Battalions of the Army of Northern Virginia. His posts are unfailingly informative, and he often has some entertaining stories of individual sharpshooters as well.

I’ve known James Durney for several years now after first “meeting” him on the “recommended_ACW_reading” Yahoo message board and then corresponding via email. James and I share a lot of the same tastes when it comes to the Civil War books we read. He is a top 2000 reviewer at Amazon.com and as a retiree he takes quite a bit of time and effort making sure his reviews are helpful and informative for prospective Civil War book buyers. James hopes to post a monthly “Book Notes” series on TOCWOC, and his April edition should be out some time this week.

Thanks for joining the team guys! We are happy to have you on board.
