Is Academia Targeting Military History?

by Brett Schulte on June 1, 2008 · 2 comments

Via the latest History Carnival, I just learned of an excellent article on Academia’s “jihad” against military history. Zenpundit doesn’t necessarily believe military history is being targeted directly, but he does think the “leftist faculty attitudes toward ROTC, American foreign policy and dead white guys” are slowly squeezing military history out. Still, he holds out hope that military history can make a comeback, concluding, “[h]istory that does not get disseminated, debated and understood is not history at all.” Go read. It’s a succinct view of military history as it exists on college campuses today.
