17th Military History Carnival Posted

The 17th Edition of the Military History Carnival is posted…but this one looks like submissions were few and far between.  Before I chastise anyone else, I’ll cast the first stone at myself.  For the first time in awhile I failed to nominate one or two posts of my fellow Civil War bloggers.  One post which comes to mind immediately was Mannie Gentile’s use of toy soldiers to illustrate the assault on Bloody Lane at Antietam.  I will set a reminder for myself to nominate a few of my fellow Civil War bloggers’ posts for the next Military History Carnival.  I encourage readers to do the same.  The main page of the Carnival is at Investigations of a Dog.  You can make submissions there or at the web sites of upcoming carnival hosts.  In fact, a host is still needed for the November edition.  If you are a fellow Civil War blogger reading this, consider hosting the Military History Carnival.  It is a great way for your blog to gain new readers in a hurry.  I would consider it myself if not for the imminent birth of my first child and my concerns over what kind of free time I’m going to have going forward.

Yes everyone, please do submit posts and volunteer to host if you have time. The more people who get involved the better the carnival will be. I’d especially like to get more ACW bloggers involved as there are loads of you. At first I was worried that we’d be swamped with ACW posts, but that never happened.
