Critical Hit to release ATS Gettysburg in September 2006

Critical Hit, a board wargaming company, is scheduled to release a new Gettysburg title based on their Advanced Tobruk System (ATS) rules. The new game, ATS Gettysburg, looks like it will be available on September 1, 2006. Information on the game is below (thanks to Richard Tee for pointing this game out to me):
A brand new TACTICAL LEVEL CIVIL WAR system launches using the game engine nominated for BOARD WARGAME OF THE YEAR! Gettysburg brings a published Civil War author and respected Civil War illustrator together to create a new genre.

If you think CH is preparing anything less than a ground-breaking new entry into tactical-level gaming history, guess again!

The ATS game engine has been ported to the period by Lieutenant Colonel Mark Johnson, author of “That Body of Brave Men—The Civil War in the West” (in bookstores now) and the art is by reknowned Civil War artist Alan Archambault. And that’s just for starters! Nothing was taken for granted.

Period maps were combined with a fresh battlefield examination by George Anderson, to bring you Bliss Farm and MacPherson’s Ridge, two intensely fought-over battle sites. And Little Round Top is coming to add to the value of your boxed game, as an expansion.

Check back soon for examples of game art and maps. The battle cries will be wailing…the cannon smoke wafting. And you, the commander of ‘Johnny Reb’ or his Union enemies will experience the American Civil War like never before.

IN EACH GAME YOU GET:

* A complete collection of color die-cut counters in 1/2”, 5/8” and 3/4” sizes,
providing the cannons, flags, officers, caissons, and men that fought in the American Civil War;
* Detailed game maps on heavyweight stock;
* The latest edition of the ATS rules of play;
* Scenarios and Play Aids printed on separate heavyweight cards;
* Two ten-sided dice.
