Shiloh OOB for TC2M (v1.0) by jackfox ---------------- The first major battle in the Western theater of the Civil War. The two-day battle, April 6 and 7, 1862, involved about 65,000 Union and 44,000 Confederate troops. This battle resulted in nearly 24,000 killed, wounded, and missing. It proved to be a decisive victory for the federal forces when they advanced on and seized control of the Confederate railway system at Corinth, Mississippi. (from the National Park Service web site) ---------------- This OOB is largely based on the detailed OOB found on Brett Schulte's web site. NOTE1: The chain of command has been modified to fit the requirements of TC2M. On both sides, various commanders have been elevated to corps or division command with this in mind. Also, units that were historically unattached to a formal organization are now either brigaded or merged with existing brigades. NOTE2: Two OOB files are included in the zip. One includes the federal Army of the Ohio. The other one doesn't. On corps and army level open play, the OOB you choose will greatly effect gameplay. The Union has a larger advantage if you play with the AoO. Regarding weapons and uniforms: I have utilized the Iron Brigade class in many cases. I think the Hardee hats better fit the western troops, although I hope somebody can mod a uniform that excludes the gaiters. Small arms are assigned based on the OOB from Talonsoft's Battleground: Shiloh. Generally, this means either an 1861 Springfield or a 1842 Musket. If anybody has any good sources that detail the various small arms distributed among the troops at Shiloh, please let me know in the MMG forums.
