Installment 2 of Diminutive OOBs Series: New Market OOB for TC2ndM There are two OB files: 1. OB_New_Market.csv will work on the stock game and with the CMP 1.06 installed (using cavalry divisions). 2. OB_New_Market_DIXIE2.csv is designed for Dixie2 mod. Place them in your Open Play folder. It includes the VMI cadet corps; by chance, one of the new the DIXIE2 uniforms looks very accurate for the VMI guys. There is some problem with regiments not firing when they are in range, they rout very quickly. I think that this is a problem with the mod, which apparently was not designed for the maximum AI cycles or to for the “Hard” level. The OOB covers the main battle of May 15th, 1864, plus the cavalry battles during the week leading up to the battle. There is a lot of cavalry involved. A couple of the southern cavalry regiments (62nd Virginia Mounted Infantry and 23rd Virginia Cavalry) were ordered to dismount and fight as infantry; the dismounted cavalry regiments are included in the confederate infantry brigades. The confederate partisan ranger battalions are equipped with shotguns and revolvers, really only good for scouting and killing officers. General Breckenridge is given his historically accurate high characteristics. Maj. Gen. Sigel and his division commander Sullivan were trying their best to lose this campaign. To make him a better foe, I gave him non-historically aggressive attributes. His men didn’t trust him, so he won’t be able to rally men well and won’t have much initiative or loyalty. Strengths are as follows: CSA Total - 4902 Infantry - 3707 Cavalry - 905 Artillery - 18 (9 rifled guns) USA Total - 7807 Infantry - 5245 Cavalry - 2112 Artillery - 28 (22 rifled guns) This OOB is based mostly on the book The Battle of New Market by William C. Davis (Doubleday, 1975). I invite comments and criticisms. Have Fun, Tacloban
