FixTCSSv1.exe by Larry Hookins, 05 November 2006. No copyright intended, this program is released to public domain. This program will convert 16 bit compressed BMP or 32 bit BMP screenshots from the Take Command game by http://www.madminutegames.com to standard 24 bit BMP format which should be readable by any graphics application. The program will handle both the 1024x768 size BMP files produced by running the game in full screen mode, or other sizes produced if you run the game in windowed mode. This is a tiny (36K) console application which can be run from the command line. The simplest way to use it is to drag one or more files onto the program icon. The program will append an "a" to the file name so it won't overwrite your original screen shots. The file screen0001.bmp will be converted as screen0001a.bmp. If screen0001a.bmp already exists, screen0001b.bmp will be written instead, up through z, then A-Z, then 0-9. If screen00019.bmp exists, it will be overwritten. You've been warned. The program is smart enough not to try to convert files with formats other than a normal screenshot that's written by Take Command, so if you accidentally drag screen0001a.bmp onto the program icon, it will not be processed again, nor will non-BMP files be processed. You can get simple instructions and information about the version by double clicking on the program icon. Note: If you drag too many files at once onto the program icon, there's a possibility that the Windows system will be unable to handle the length of the "input line" with all the paths and filenames. In this case the program will crash. This is a system limitation that I can do nothing about. Simply drag fewer files onto the program icon next time and it will work. Hook hookins@netzero.net
