***********************DIXIE a mod for TCM2***************** README FILE----------PEASE READ INSTALL: IT is best to do a new install of tcm2---HOWEVER if you do not want to--THEN BACK UP YOUR DATA FILE AND SOUNDS FILE----- that way you can replace them back to your original game if you don’t like it-----------Thanks. Just activate the installer and install to your TCM2 directory---wherever that may be You will find a folder called "SCALES MOD" inside your directory----this is optional--The mod comes with NORMAL sprites already in place. IF you want larger sprites and terrain then simply Remove the SPRITEScsv from the Data folder and put it in the normal folder in Scales mod Select the scales you want i.e. 10% or 20% and drop it into the data folder---That’s it done!! Game play************** Following on from the Lo-res mods--we have taken the idea and execution a little further for this mod Lo-res and Hi res are available PLEASE always PLAY with the Setting HI-RES FLAGS ON other settings are up to you There are new formations available to the troops They will automatically take up these formations in various situations or troop type They consist of 2, 3, 4 ranks Column Close order Fire line 80 man company Fire line 60 man company Fire line Extended fire line Automated skirmishers (These require no player input--they will operate best if left alone--they have their own routines and formations and their own ai---they are designated as Detached or independent skirms) Also new formation for brigade Assault lines-----troops will form up in three ranks ready to assault the enemy--troops in this formation are more likely to charge the enemy---if on ai---still more likely or may adopt another formation--all depends on general Tighter gun batteries---also act slightly different now Tighter cav formations---also act slightly different now New sounds These are attached to regts and brigades----they will change with the situation-----they also mean that battles are MUCH noisier--you will hear the individual regts shout their commands--It provides an excellent battle ambience and a real sound of the chaos of war. They are not overpowering--Just noisy like a real battle would be. Two new OOBs (For use with this Mod) There have been many data changes--too many to list here--the player will discover something new when he plays the game on different maps and with different formations.
