The installer points to the default folder of TC2M. If you want to keep your original unsullied then copy it to a new folder and point the installer there (provided you have enough hard disk space). After the installation process you must activate the toolbar you want to play with. Go to the "Data Files" folder and make a copy of the toolbar file you want to use toolbar_open.csv or toolbar_stock.csv and rename it to toolbar.csv. (Be sure that you don't add ".csv" as extension, if you have enabled "Hide extensions for known files types" in your Windows explorer folder options.) II. NOTES IMPORTANT: The third TC2M patch is required. You can find the patch in the support section at http://www.madminutegames.com/. This update includes all changes from the first and second CMP update and the initial CMP release version. Some changes are not available for the stock scenarios. For custom scenarios they should be available, but it is also possible that they aren't. This depends on the decision off the scenario creater. Not available for the stock scenarios: Sprites for Longstreet, Hill, Sharpshooters, Officers, Texas flag and Lee's HQ flag Somes toolbar formations Visibility in Yards Display Mod All new sprites (Officers, Sharpshooter, Longstreet, Hill, 1st Texas flag and Lee's HQ flag) are available for high and low res. The new flag sprites aren't the best looking ones, for example the stars jump around on the waving flags, but they are quite good for pixel by pixel edited ones. The Unitcommon fixes include corrected move speeds for errors reported at the MMG forum (http://www.madminutegames.com/MadMinuteBB/viewtopic.php?t=3670) and a small speed boost for double quicked unlimbered artillery. Some of the OOB files are renamed, so if you have already one of the included OOBs installed - remove the old ones. IVa. TOOLBAR & SOUND MOD NOTES The stock scenarios still have a limitation, so I have included two versions of the toolbar, one for "Open Play" (toolbar_open.csv) and one for the stock scenarios (toolbar_stock.csv), because the stock scenarios use the default formations.csv and this file hasn't some needed new formations in it. You must manually choose the one for the game type you want to play, toolbar_open.csv for "Open Play" games or toolbar_stock.csv for stock scenarios. This mod uses only the default coordinate and scale compass settings for the default game resolution 1024x768, so all changes you had probably made to sprites.csv and toolbar.csv are gone. You have to re-edit the files if you want your own settings back. 1280x1024 settings: toolbar.csv -> find the line "all,Compass,101,72,,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,," and change "101,72" to "104,81" tooltext.csv -> find the line "Brig_TOOLBAR,Georgia19,C,1,195,4,39,510,17,$objtimer," and change "17" to "-237" I have also included 4+1 different drum sounds in the "Sounds\Drums" subdirectory, choose the one you want to use, copy it to the "Sounds" folder and rename it to "Drums.wav". (Drums_1.wav is the original MMG file, so you only need to backup your Drums.wav, if you don't use the original.) Some toolbar buttons and commands may behave odd, here is a small list what you can expect: -Infantry Brigades can now charge and retreat as a whole. But be aware that only regiments which are currently engaged will charge; any others that are not firing at an enemy target will NOT charge. The reverse is true for retreating, however. Issuing the brigade retreat command will cause any regiment in the brigade that can see an enemy unit to retreat. It does not matter whether or not the regiment is engaged. Note that this means that a regiment will not retreat when the brigade retreat command is given if it cannot see an enemy unit. The brigade commander follows the same rules as the regiments. Use these commands carefully! -Charge and Retreat have been added to the Cavalry Regiment commander's toolbar. They behave in the same odd way as they do for Infantry Brigades. -The Cavalry Regiment/Division commander can now order the whole Regiment/Divison to Mount and Dismount, but the graphic and text do not work properly (it always shows Dismount only). -There is a bug with Artillery Battery/Brigade commanders where the opposite graphic and text for Limber/Unlimber may sometimes be displayed. The button works properly, it just gives the wrong visual feedback. Clicking another unit then going back to the Artillery commander clears it up. -If the guns are engaged, they may not Limber. Hit Hold Fire, then Limber the guns. -Artillery Battery/Brigade limber/unlimber and the cavalry commander mount/dismount buttons actually work as a change of state command. In other words, if a battery commander presses the limber/unlimber command while two guns in a battery are limbered and the other two are unlimbered, the two limbered guns will start to unlimber, and the two unlimbered guns will start to limber. A gun in the middle of a change will obey the issued command. IVb. OOB PACK NOTES The "OB_GB US reorganized (hA)" OOB uses reorganized Union corps to have a better Open Play gameplay at corps level. Now there are 4 infantry + 1 cavalry corps on Union side against 3 infantry + 1 cavalry corps for the Confederates. The same goes for the "OB_GB US+Cav reorganized (hA)" OOB. Also featured in this OOB are reorganized cavalry brigades, the cavalry corps on both sides are splited up into various brigades and every brigade is attached to a different infantry divison. Nearly every infantry division got a cavalry brigade. All OOBs indicated with (hA) use halved artillery batteries to cut back the efficience of artillery (originaly introduced by Lava), to reduce the needed processing power for LOS calculations and to help the AI to perform much better on the battlefield. Batteries with 4 guns will now have only 2 (5 -> 3, 6 -> 3). The Gettysburg OOB with the artillery reserves was an OOB created for CWBR, where everything worked well like it should. In TC2M it seems that the game can't handle the artillery reserves or artillery brigades (Shiloh and Winchester OOBs) and sends immediately couriers to call for reinforcements. V.
