These screens will work best as a resource for scenario designers:

–  intro screens for scenarios (Please note – you cannot include them in pre-warpacked scenarios such as those by Mark T for Fredericksburg.)

This installation doesn’t explain how to include them in scenarios but you can get some tips by looking at the scenario – Gettysburg – Three Days in Eight Hours (C_Army) in CMP3 or my own Olustee mod. TIP – look at the gamescreens csv incl in those scenarios.

REPLACING STOCK SCREENS IN YOUR MAIN INSTALLATION (not scenarios)

However, if you want to you can replace the stock screens in your main installtion by renaming the dds files in this pack and copying and pasting them into the Graphics/Screens folder. THIS APPROACH WILL OVERWRITE YOUR EXISTING SCREENS – SO BACK UP FIRST.

A note on the mainscreen -this will show up every time you start the game so if you do not want a Fredericksburg mainscreen, don’t use it.

A note on splash screens – to avoid you having to tweak csvs I have left some original splash screens, such as the tactics and troiani splash screens untouched. However, as splash screens are loaded randomly, this means your Stones River versions will not always show up. Exit the scenario and load it again and they should, at some point, show up.

1. Installation for CMP3

a) Main screen

i) Back-up original Mainscreen_CMP.dds (found in graphics/screens)

ii) Rename –  MainScreen_CMP_F1.dds (in this pack) to Mainscreen_CMP.dds

iii) Copy to graphics/screens. Overwrite.

b) Splash screeens –

i) Back-up originals found in graphics/screens

ii) Choose 3 modded screens in this pack you like then ……

iii) Rename them

SPLASH_2ndManassas.dds
SPLASH_CedarMt.dds
SPLASH_Chantilly.dds

iv) Copy these to graphics/screens. Overwrite.

2. Normal Installation (non-CMP)

a) Main screen

i) Back-up original. Mainscreen.dds (found in graphics/screens)

ii) Rename –  MainScreen_CMP_F1.dds in this pack to Mainscreen.dds

iii) Copy it to graphics/screens. Overwrite.

b) Splash screeens –

i) Back-up originals found in graphics/screens

ii) Choose 3 modded screens you like then ……

iii) Rename them

SPLASH_2ndManassas.dds
SPLASH_CedarMt.dds
SPLASH_Chantilly.dds

iv) Copy these to graphics/screens.Overwrite.
