New Civil War Blog

I was making the round of the Civil War blogosphere this evening when I stumbled on Brian Downey’s mention of Steven Mynes’ new Civil War blog Civil War Battles and Battlefields. Steven says, “I have been studying the Civil War and touring battlefields for over 20 years” in the About Me section of his new blog. The first post identifies Steven’s focus for his blog (I’ve included the first paragraph below):

Civil War Battles and Battlefields will feature travel narratives of my frequent visits to historic sites and my thoughts on recent readings in Civil War history and historiography. I live in central Maryland, an ideal location for a Civil War buff. Gettysburg, Antietam, Harper’s Ferry, South Mountain, and Monocacy are all within an hour’s drive, and most of the Virginia battlefields are within easy day trip range.

Welcome to the Civil War blogosphere Steven!  I’ve got a link up for Civil War Battles and Battlefields to the right.  I encourage readers to go check it out.

    Steve,

You are very welcome! I like the “niche” you chose and I think it will be a welcome one in the Civil War blogosphere (man I love using that word!).
