Leadership Lessons from the Siege of Petersburg: Richard J. Sommers

Richard J. Sommers, Siege of Petersburg Expert/AuthorDr. Richard J. Sommers, author of Richmond Redeemed, recently reprinted in a Second Edition by Savas Beatie, recently gave a talk about leadership at the Siege of Petersburg which aired on CSPAN.  Luckily for us, as Dr. Sommers writes in an email, it’s now available online:

C-SPAN filmed a presentation on “Richmond Redeemed: Enduring Lessons in Leadership from the Siege of Petersburg” which I delivered at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center on October 15.  The network broadcast the program in its “America History TV” series on November 29.  A link to that broadcast is given below:

If you’re interested in the Siege of Petersburg, I encourage you to go check it out!

    Hi Brett,

Yes, this is a wonderful talk. Dr. Sommers is a font of knowledge about the CW in general, and of course Petersburg in particular, and this talk is simply outstanding. His book, of course (the reprinted version especially), isn’t half bad either. 🙂
