ADAH Digital Collections On Line

Rob Wynstra sends along a tip that the Alabama Department of Archives and History now has a lot of its collections available on the web, including quite a lot of Civil War info. This includes period photos and textual materials, and is well worth a look.

The Confederate soldiers section, for example, has a wealth of original diaries, letters, etc, many of them already transcribed.

Now the ADAH is a nice place to do research and the folks there a quite helpful, but it does save time, gas & lodging expense to do it on line, not to mention that the search function works quite well.

If you haven’t yet read Rob’s book about Iverson’s brigade at Gettysburg, you should.
