This is just a quick note to let readers know I have updated the BTC Store with new transcriptions from National Archives Microfilm M1281, Roll 1 containing the gun tubes and types carried by Union batteries at the end of the 1st Quarter (March 31, 1864) and the end of the 2nd Quarter (June 30, 1864). These are officially known as Union Ordnance returns, and I now have available the weapons carried by the following groups of batteries at the Siege of Petersburg on June 30, 1864 as well as the return of the previous quarter. Note that half of the June 30, 1864 return is missing or was never completed:

In addition, I am willing to do transcriptions for units which were NOT present at the Siege of Petersburg at a cost of $1.99 per battery. First, look at the unit list and contact me with requests.

I’m slowly working my way through the rest of Roll 7 and transcribing the information for the regiments of all other states who participated in the Siege of Petersburg. Wargamers and researchers interested in specific units will find this information interesting and useful. Go check it out if you’re interested.
