Do You Miss Sid Meier’s Gettysburg? I’ve Got a New Game for You!

Norb Timpko, the developer of the tactical battle simulators Take Command: 2nd Manassas and Take Command: First Bull Run 1861, has created the best Gettysburg game ever made, in this longtime wargamer’s opinion.  Scourge of War: Gettysburg has been in development for the past two years, and it’s now available for purchase in direct download form.

Like its Take Command predecessors, SOW: Gettysburg allows the player to “take command” of units from army all the way down to regimental level.  The player takes the place of a Union or Confederate commander and maneuvers the sub-units under his command in what is a representation of real time.  You’ll see your men falling as you press the attack on Cemetery Hill or defend Little Round Top.  Do you have what it takes to recreate the Army of the Potomac’s greatest victory…or change history and achieve Confederate independence?

I’ve purposefully left unsaid the most interesting aspect of this game…MULTIPLAYER!  Join your friends on the same or opposite sides and replay this most famous of American Civil War battles.

I’ll leave you with a video trailer of Scourge of War: Gettysburg, and I encourage you to CLICK HERE and buy this excellent new game!

This game is Top-Notch above all other CW computer games IMNHO…however, I can’t play it on my Gateway Laptop…it take 2-3 minutes to make anything happen…don’t think my graphics card can handle it even though it can play TC2m just fine..oh well….BUT, from what I’ve seen and played briefly on a friend’s computer, it is a PHENOMENAL game that will get even better as patches begin to come out. WELL worth the price
