Even the Governor Does NOT Want a Wilderness Wal-Mart!

I read some very interesting (and hopeful) news yesterday at Eric Wittenberg’s Rantings of a Civil War Historian.  Rather than attempt to echo Eric’s thoughts, I figured it would be better just to direct TOCWOC’s readers to Eric’s blog to see for yourself.  The Governor of Virginia and the House of Delegates Speaker issued a bipartisan letter to the Orange County Board of Supervisors asking them to relocate the planned Super Wal-Mart on the Wilderness Battlefield.  Hopefully this ridiculous idea to build on a battlefield in the first place can be laid to rest once and for all, but more pushing needs to be done.  I encourage everyone to visit the Civil War Preservation Trust’s fine new web site to speak out against this disgusting idea.
