Stash of Civil War Newspapers Found

The Austin Coin Collecting Society, whom I have mentioned before as having silver Confederate half dollars, has come into posession of a number of copies of the New York Times dating from the Civil War.

From the cellar of an old library being remodeled, we found a small hoard of original New York Times Newspapers printed during the Civil War.

Pricey at $129 each, but OTOH they’re not many left.

Anyone have any thoughts on whether the newspapers make an interesting addition to a Civil War collection? What about the authenticity and sale price? Given that they don’t give you a choice of dates, does anyone have any thoughts on how likely one is to a get a copy with much news about the Civil War?
