New Civil War Blog: The Civil War Network

We have another new member of the Civil War Blogosphere, The Civil War Network. The founder of the blog Francis Rose has a background in radio. Naturally then, The Civil War Network will feature Civil War podcasts! This is a GREAT idea and fills a niche within the Civil War blogging community. It looks like James McPherson will be one of the first guests. As I usually do in these circumstances, I’ll let Francis speak for himself with a brief excerpt from an early post:

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the new blog on what will become the web site for The Civil War Network.  I am the host of The Civil War Network, Francis Rose, and over the next few days, I’ll be posting about what The Civil War Network is all about, who I am, why I’m doing this, and more.

In the meantime, I’d like to share the mission statement of The Civil War Network:

“The mission of The Civil War Network is to inform, educate, and entertain people interested in the Civil War.  The Civil War Network will fulfill its mission through audio, video, the written word, and other forms of media presentations.  The Civil War Network will fulfill its mission while adhering to the highest journalistic, entertainment, and ethical standards.”

Welcome to the Civil War blogosphere Francis! I look forward to listening and reading. A link to The Civil War Network is in the blogroll to the right.
