October 13 General News & Notes

Now that I’ve been blogging for over a month, I’m starting to get the hang of this whole phenomenon. With that in mind, I’d like to emulate Dimitri R. just a little bit here by going over a few general features of the blog.

1. How do I contact you by email?

Good question, and one that I hadn’t really given much thought to. If you take a look at my domain name, you’ll notice that it has nothing to do with the Civil War. That’s because I launched the domain to cover all of my interests. To make a long story short, feel free to visit www.brettschulte.net any time. From my home page, you’ll find plenty of instances if my various email addresses scattered throughout my different sites. Anything ending in brettschulte.net will definitely make its way to one of my inboxes, and I check them every day.

2. I group my blog entries by category. If you are interested in only Book Reviews, for instance, look over on the left hand side of the page under the categories section and select Books – Reviews. Or maybe some of you want to see posts by the generous gents who have agreed to guest blog here. You would simply want to choose Guest Blogging as your category of choice.

3. I also received a question today on posting comments. Comments are not only welcome, they are encouraged. I’d probably run this blog even if no one was showing up just because I think it’s fun, but the comments I receive help me pass the day at work at the very least, and quite a few people have added significantly to my blog entries with their comments. The Comments link is rather small, but it is located at the bottom of every blog entry. By all means chip in and let me know how you feel.

4. If anyone is an expert on Civil War board games or miniatures and you would like to guest blog on those topics from time to time, please contact me. I’m just getting into Johnny Reb III and I have several board games from The Gamers’ Brigade Series and AH’s GCACW series, but I’m no expert.

5. Thanks to everyone who has been reading my blog in its initial month. I hope to improve both my writing skills and the content contained in the blog as we go. I sincerely appreciate all the feedback I have received so far, and I look forward to receiving much more.
