Comments: Ah, another Shama-lama-ding-dong film. As I said in my review of The Sixth Sense, I like Shyamalan's work. This is no exception. Mel Gibson stars as a former Reverend who became a layman after he lost his faith. His wife is dead, and his brother (played by Joaquin Phoenix) is helping him raise his kids. After we get acquainted with the family and their routines, some strange things start to happen out in the family's corn fields, and crop signs start appearing. There are some scary moments, and soon the purpose of the beings out in the corn becomes clear. The family, and many other people, must fight to save themselves from this menace. And of course you have the big M. Night twist at the end. This was a very good movie in my opinion, and I am glad I picked this one up. |
