Comments: This movie kicked some major ass. I need to say it that strongly because I feel that strongly about it. Bill Paxton directs (and also stars) as Mr. Meiks, a normal loving widower father to his sons Fenton and Adam. Then one day, he tells his boys that he has seen a vision and that they must start killing demons who are disguised as humans. Fenton, the older boy, doesn't take to this idea at all, but his younger brother Adam has no trouble believing his father. Matthew McConaughey walks into the FBI building in Dallas, Texas, identifies himself as an adult Fenton Meiks, and then proceeds to tell the tale to FBI Agent Wesley Doyle (played by Deadwood's Powers Boothe). This movie takes your preconceived notions and turns them all on their head. I don't want to say more for fear of ruining the ending, which I enjoyed greatly. I give this an outstanding 9/10, and it is a must-buy for all horror fans. You won't regret it. |
