I mistakenly received this book as a main selection of the History Book Club as a teenager and decided to keep it. I remember starting the book, but I never finished it. This book is more political than military in nature, so I suspect once I get back to it, I may find it a tad boring. Do not take my advice, however, until I have read it and given it a full review. I have a lot of books in my "to read" queue, so it may be awhile before I get to it. 544 pp.
