Raising Hell: A Concise History of the Black Arts and Those Who Dared Practice Them |
|
| Comments: This was a decent book, but I couldn't help feeling the author told these tales of the occult in a slightly tongue-in-cheek sort of way. Masello gives a sort of beginner's guide to the many legends of occult practices, from the ancient Greeks to the Keys of Solomon to Aleister Crowley. It is a good book for those interested in the History of the Occult to start out with, and can be used as a gateway to further study of whatever takes your interest. I'd recommend it for people new to this area as I was, but I'm not sure it would do someone with knowledge in this area any good.234 pp., illustrations. |
